Luzerne-StreetThe Borough of Westmont currently has 195 elms planted on Luzerne Street and 15 on various other streets. The Luzerne Street elms are the longest municipally owned, continuous standing American Elms in the country. It is nearly 3200 feet long, and is the last cathedral-arched boulevard in the USA.

The Borough has 3,285 shade trees. There are forty-two species. An annual planting program of various species continues throughout the Borough. Borough Council, through the Public Works Department, oversees the care and maintenance of the Borough’s shade trees.

Donations may be given in honor of a living or deceased loved one, or to commemorate life’s milestones, special occasions or accomplishments. Donations will cover all costs associated with the planting and maintenance of a tree, along with the choice of available planting sites, when possible. A memento of the donation will be provided to the donor and an engraved leaf will be placed on a permanent tree plaque in the Westmont Municipal Building.
